Linda Williamson, MA, Dip HIP
UKCP Registered Psychotherapist
As a trained Psychotherapist, I can provide a safe space for you to express your feelings and gain a deeper insight into the issues you face which are affecting your mental and emotional wellbeing.
Sessions are confidential, so you can talk about things you might not feel able to discuss with anyone else.
Both psychotherapy and counselling aim to help you find better ways to cope, or bring about changes in the way you think and behave in order to improve your mental and emotional wellbeing.
As well as providing open ended therapy, I also offer short term counselling, which is usually focused on a specific issue.
As a Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapist, I can draw on a range of influences in my work with you.
We will talk about what is happening to you in the 'here and now' but also link it to your past, identifying any patterns of behaviour.
If you are fed up of repeating the same behaviours, therapy can help you to shift your perspective, which could rewrite your narrative and help you to act differently.
As part of our work we might review your early childhood experiences and, as we take into account the impact of the external world on your internal world, we might also look at social, cultural and political experiences.
Because this is a dialogue, I will share my perceptions and feelings if they feel relevant to increasing your awareness and understanding.
Feedback from previous clients includes :
'warm' 'compassionate' 'challenging' 'gentle yet vivacious guiding' 'witty' 'enlightening'
I am registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and I am a graduate member of Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling (BCPC).
I abide by the Code of Ethics and Professional Practice for both organisations.
